Northern Social is an exciting new games-room style bar situated on the ’Great British High Street of the Year Nominee’; North Parade. The project started with a brand naming session and after brainstorming ideas and conducting research into the concept of the bar, it was felt that Northern Social had the most connections to what the bar represents. Recreation, relaxation; location in the upscale part of town.
Classic Olympics poster design formed the backbone of the research into the style and colours of the brand. I wanted to have a strong palette of many colours to allow the brand to develop and represent different aspects of Northern Social. Three brand concepts were put forward, with the final concept combining all the aspects of the initial brand vision. I introduced angled shapes working together to give the visual identity an aspect of motion and created a stacked variation of the logo. Following this, I built the website and the social media brand, maintaining a consistency in style and emphasising the sports and game events.
